Erg Chebbi, known as Merzouga, has majestic sand dunes that can reach 150 meters and cover an area of 50 kilometers from north to south.
It is about 60 kilometers south of the town of Erfoud and 40 kilometers from Rissani. Due to ancient caravan routes in this area, Sijilmassa was a prosperous and separate kingdom from the 8th to the 14th century.

ITINERARY OF- 2 DAYS TOUR FROM MARRAKECH
After picking you up from your accommodation in Marrakech we drive to Ait Benhaddou through the High Atlas Mountains via the Tizi N’tichka route (2260m altitude). We will visit the impressive Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou followed by a lunch stop at a local restaurant.
Our next stop will be in Ouarzazate, near the Atlas Film Studios, for a great photo opportunity, before heading to the city center to enjoy the wonderful views of the Taourirt Kasbah, Kalaa M’gouna, Boumalne du Dades, and the Dades Valley.
After that, our 2 DAY TOUR FROM MARRAKECH to Merzouga continues to the Gorges of Todra via Tineghir. Along the way, we will make brief stops to take pictures and enjoy the wonderful scenery.
Admiring the panoramic views of the Todra Gorges, we will pass through Tinejdad and Erfoud to reach our hotel.
Later, we will experience camel trekking over the captivating Erg Chebbi dunes at sunset to reach a Berber desert camp in the middle of the dunes for a hot dinner and overnight stay in traditional nomadic tents.
Early in the morning we will admire the spectacular sunrise over the golden dunes. After breakfast, we will mount our camels to reach the Auberge and drive back to Marrakech.
We will stop to enjoy a nice lunch, before continuing our way back to the red city through a scenic route filled with beautiful palm groves and ancient villages.
Later, our 2 DAY TOUR FROM MARRAKECH to Merzouga will conclude upon arrival in Marrakech and drop you off at your hotel in Marrakech.
